“My name is Cortney Clark and I grew up a little north of Atlanta GA but now reside in Merrimac MA. I am a stay-at-home mom to four energetic kiddos ages 12, 9, 7 and 4 who keep me constantly on the go! They are my reason why I started my sober journey. I wanted to be a more present mother, wife, daughter, sister and friend. That’s hard to do when you always have a drink in your hand. I woke up one day and had had enough of how I was living, I knew I needed to make a change. It definitely took me trying and failing a few times but I’m happy to say I’ve been alcohol free for 2 years now and I’m so proud of how far I’ve come. This is not an easy road to go down and I’m passionate about helping anyone that needs support in whatever part of their sober journey they are on."

“Meet Michelle Rene’ Cunniff a This Naked Mind Certified Coach who empowers women to drink less and live more. A former grey area drinker herself, Michelle’s life was full of family, friends, a corporate career, and at the end of the day, her deserving glass (or 3) of wine.
Michelle Rene’ did not have to hit ‘rock bottom’ to discover that she was in a habitual unhealthy cycle of drinking. Like many women, she tried moderation but would find herself back on the unhealthy merry-go-round. She kept asking why that substance in a glass had such a hold on her.Michelle Rene’ knew she wanted to stop this cycle as the wine was taking more than it was giving. In December 2020 she read This Naked Mind book, ascience-based methodology book written by Annie Grace. This inevitably led to Michelle creating her own Path to a better life: healthy, whole, authentic, peaceful, joyful, empowered, and present.
This transformation has been so remarkable that Michelle is committed to helping other successful/driven/grey area-drinking women find their freedom and live the life they desire.
Michelle is married and the mother of three grown children. After 33 years on the marketing team, she quit her corporate career with a major brand to focus on her coaching business. She is currently a part-time Finance Director at Guyer Group. When not coaching or working, she frequently takes a stroll/paddle in nature, practices yoga, or spends time with her two grandchildren.

"My name is Brittany Bushmire. I grew up in south central Pennsylvania, moved to Fort Worth, Texas for six years after college, and now currently reside in Townsend, Mass. Along with me, my husband, Troy, our two girls, Zoey -5, and Wren -3, and two dogs, Geno and Heinz.
I am a dental hygienist by profession, but while the girls are little, I stay home with them through the week, and work in the dental office on Saturdays. Since moving up to New England I have found a new appreciation for the great outdoors, hiking and foraging. Cooking is also a favored hobby of mine- my love language is feeding people.
My sober journey began quite some time ago, but really took foot earlier this year in March. I knew I was drinking too much, turning a blind eye to the countless hangovers and memory lapses. I wanted to slow down, I tried to stop, but I couldn’t. My better judgement would allude me each time I was at the grocery store or near a liquor store.
In May of this year I took my sober journey to the next level, and reached out to Banyan Treatment centers. It was so hard to stop drinking on my own, I knew I needed help to stop. Inevitably, continuing to drink the way I was would only lead bad news.
Since then, I have been participating in intensive outpatient treatment (IOP), consisting of weekly individual and group therapy sessions. My sober journey hasn’t been perfect, but it’s been enlightening and so meaningful. I am a better wife, mother, spiritual being, and overall better human with sobriety in my life."

Becoming a mother didn’t make me question my relationship with alcohol because I had seen so many others do it and it had played such a big role in my life that it was just normal to drink and mother. Three years into motherhood, a couples therapist was the first one to ever say “you should start evaluating your relationship with alcohol” so I did and it consumed me! All I thought about was when I should and should drink! It was exhausting so finally I decided to just give it up and I never looked back. The first year was all about getting through the day without a drink. The second year was about address the reasons why I drank and now I’m in a season of implementing the healing that comes with it. It’s beautiful and someday I will proudly look back knowing I have lived a full and joyful life without alcohol. It certainly hasn’t been easy and we can’t do it alone so I am grateful to be a part of this sober community! "
We have meetups all over and are quickly growing to other areas of the country! Let us know if you are interested in leading a chapter in your community!
Amanda is in charge of the Austin chapter. She lives in Liberty Hill, Texas with her husband, two of her three kids and their rescue pup Lucy. Her oldest son lives in College Station, Texas and is a junior at Texas A&M University.
She began her sobriety journey on October 2, 2022. After giving alcohol many chances for many years, she decided to give sobriety a chance. Through virtual connections, quit-lit and now fully understanding what alcohol is, there is no looking back for her. She is in the beginning stages of creating her own N/A mobile event bar, Faux Fizz. She is excited to create and find fun events around the Austin area, to bring fellow sober and sober curious individuals together.
Jen, is the head of our D.C. chapter.
She is a retired drinker since December 2021, ex-people pleaser and perfectionist, lives in Fairfax, VA with her four kids (8-14) and two dogs and husband. Jen hails from Chicago and also spent many years in Boston. You can now find now on Friday nights at the dance studio, tennis courts or on the couch watching a movie with her family. Outside of achieving her five star rating for Ubering her kids around, Jen enjoys tennis, traveling and a good book. She is looking forward to connecting with other like minded people in the area.
Katie Lerro heads up the Greenwich, CT chapter. "Katie grew up a social butterfly, flapping her wings from her hometown of Bethesda, Maryland up to the University of Rochester where she went for her undergraduate studies. After graduation, Katie moved to New York City and life really took off – the good, the bad, the ugly and the awesome. Pursuing a career in media + entertainment, Katie spent a year working in the prestigious NBC Page Program before moving into representation at a major talent agency.
'I love being the person who connects people. Making introductions, hosting parties, bringing people together – I get such a rush from it. It’s no wonder that I really took to the party life. So much of the entertainment industry revolves around drinking. Conferences, work drinks, happy hours, gifts of alcohol, etc. After I had my daughter in 2021, things got worse before they got better but now, I can’t even imagine ever going back to alcohol. Don’t get me wrong, I had a ton of fun in college & in my 20s but there was a lot of pain with it too. I’m realizing that now and am so proud of how far I’ve come.'
Katie currently resides in Greenwich, Connecticut with her husband, daughter and dog."
Elizabeth Janka is the head of our Fairfield chapter. “Hiya! I'm Eli, math teacher and mom to three gorgeous children. When I decided to spontaneously quit drinking in January of 2023, I relied on a bank of joyful, alcohol-free core memories to support my sobriety. Am I still grappling with regret from my drinking days? Of course. But by engaging positively with my present, I am moving forward and recovering. These days I recharge through hiking, pottery, live music, and cozy chats with friends. It is so exciting to experience life and make connections without the veil of alcohol! Let's have some good clean fun. :-)
